Answers to some frequently asked questions.
  • How many sessions do I need to have?

    You can have as many or as few sessions as you wish, the decision is yours.

  • How long is each session?

    Each session is 50 minutes long.

  • How do I pay?

    Once we have agreed to work togther I will send you a welcome pack with all the information you need including my bank details for payment. Payment will need to be made via bank transfer at least 24hrs before the session.

  • What if I miss a session?

    If you miss a session and give more than 24hrs notice then there is no charge.  If you miss a session and give less than 24hrs notice 50% of the fee is payable.

  • How do you protect my personal data?

    I keep all your notes and details securely on password protected comupter and in a locked filing cabinet for a minimum of seven years after which they are confidentially shredded. You have the right to request access to your notes. I do not share any of your details with third parties except when required to by court order.

  • How are you regulated?

    Counselling is an unregualted profession and unfortunately many people advertise themselves as therpaists and counsellors without having had sufficicent training.  I am a memeber of the British Association of Counsellors and Psycotherapists (BACP) which means that I have had four years training and achieved a recognised and accredited qualification.

  • What qualifications do you have?

    I have a level 4 Diploma in Counselling.  I also have a degree in Education and am a qualfied teacher.  


  • How confidential are the sessions?

    The sessions are confidential with a few exceptions.  If you disclose risk of serious risk or harm to yourself or another person.  If you disclose risk of harm or neglect of a child or vulnerable adult.  If you disclsose knowledge of terrorism, money laundering or serious crime.
